The domain owner's contact details, such as address and phone number, are made easily accessible to anyone --including stalkers and identity thieves. The quesion of how much personal information should be publicly available in the WHOIS database pits privacy issues against the needs of law enforcement and against intellectual property concens. The future of Internet privacy rights may well depend upon the consensus reached by these panelists and their decision making peers.
